Transmission Equipment Grant Round 1 2013/14.

The committee has submitted an application towards the Transmission Equipment Grant Round 1 2013/14.

This grant is to assist the ongoing development of Australian community radio stations through grants to purchase and install essential transmission equipment or conduct activities that will improve their transmission facilities.

The committee has applied for a grant of $7,647 for the purpose of replacing old and/or faulty equipment with a new 100 watt exciter (FMX100+) and 500 watt power amplifier (FMA501). These are to replace the old RVR MOD TEX 30 and TEX500. Investigate reflected power problems with the main 4-bay antenna array to allow us to switch back from our standby antenna.

Final grant recommendations will be considered by the CBF Board at its November 2013 meeting.

Our Annual General Meeting was held on the 19th of September 2013. Disappointing there was a smaller number of members than the last AGM.

The new elected committee is:
E Wiltshire - Chair;
M Henderson - Vice Chair;
K Hamilton - Secretary;
V Vincent - Treasurer;
General members - D Goble, D Morrison, P Holman, I Noyce, Leanne Rosentreater, and Andrew Duncan (was absent)

The new committee heard from the floor concerns of a lack of communication from the previous committee. They took on board the concerns and said that they will focus on more communication this year.

On that note it was great news that the problems with the aerial are in progress and that it would be attended to in the next few months.
